Who is the director, owner, and head teacher of Bluestar Preschool Learning Center?
Hello, my name is “Ms. Sandie” Mellas. I started Bluestar Preschool in May of 2007 out of my home. The current building has been in operation since September of 2016. This is the most perfect and rewarding job I can imagine. I love working with children and give 100% of myself to making Bluestar the best quality preschool possible. Although I have no children of my own, my experience with children is varied and extensive. I have an educational certificate in ART Kindergarten through 12th grade, a BFA in graphic arts, and minored in psychology, all through Temple University. I have taught art in public schools, community centers and private lessons to home schooled children, enhancing my creative and fun side. I have taught gymnastics and swimming which gives me a vast knowledge of large motor skills and safety. I have managed at a YMCA, several summer camps, after-school programs, and other businesses. Locally I worked for Abington School District, the Lourdesmont School and the NEIU. Every day at Bluestar Preschool is a wonderful experience. My specially designed and original curriculum has been created through the many years of experience as a teacher. I have designed the building and program to promote a place for enthusiastic, safe, happy and educationally challenged children. I am available Monday through Friday 6AM to 6PM at 570-499-8235. I now spend much of my time with administration work as the director, but I always spend take time to work directly with my staff. And sneak in as much time as I can to teaching and getting to know all the children.
